Who is Marlyn?
Marlyn Sanchez is one of the most promising artists and fresh faces in the entertainment industry today. Praised for her pure, strong and timeless voice, her magnitude of range is astonishing, as well as awe-inspiring. Possessing a remarkable 3-octave range, Marlyn effortlessly belts out a low F to a high D! Her free-spirited disposition and Audrey Hepburn elegance brings beauty, personality and grace back to the forum which has missed these attributes for too long.
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, of Cuban and Lebanese descent, Marlyn (pronounced: mar-leen) was a natural performer as a child. Her inherent, unforced talent has been illustrated before audiences since age 7, at which time she sang and won the title of Little Miss Havana Cuba in her first pageant in Miami, Fla. Since then, Marlyn has nurtured her passion for performing and connecting with the public. Over the past eight years, her singing and acting has furthered propelled her career as a professional musical theatre actress.
Leading roles she enjoyed performing most include Maria in West Side Story, Guinevere in Camelot and Christine in Phantom of the Opera.
Along with a lifetime of studying and actively working in her field, Miss Sanchez has had the honor of studying classically, under the direction of Conductor, Thomas Cavendish of The Gold Coast Opera. She has performed in the operas La Travita, Romeo and Juliet and The Student Prince. Additionally, Marlyn’s flair for romancing the camera lens, as well as her audience, led her into commercial/print modeling for companies such as Bellsouth, Colgate and Caribelle Magazine. She has been a spokes model for several companies. Among a few are Baby Phat, Ten Cane Rum, and Videospokespeople.com. She also appears in various nationwide commercials.
The wide-ranging experience and success from her acting, modeling and singing supplied Marlyn with the tools to produce and release her own Christmas CD, entitled “In the Spirit of Christmas.” She has been performing her album for private parties and exclusive events all over the country. She has had the privilege of captivating prominent figures and entertainers, such as Gloria Estefan, Alejandro Sanz, Paulina Rubio and Romeo Britto. Marlyn is currently working on original material for her upcoming album and performs at select events and at many fashionable South Florida venues. “My mission is to deliver an encouraging, positive, but thought-provoking inspiration to the public through my art.” Quite obviously, her music, image and projects have, and continue to accomplish precisely that.
Miss Sanchez traveled to Egypt in January of 2008, where she represented Miss Cuba for the Top Model of the World Competition. She was announced as The Most Talented Top Model of the World, where she won the Talent Portion of the competition and impressed former Platters singer, Keith Tynes, with her seasoned vocal abilities. Marlyn also holds the title of Miss Caribbean 2008, in which she toured internationally to represent her platform: Women In Distress.
With a BA degree in Sociology and over sixteen years of experience singing, acting and modeling professionally, Marlyn Sanchez has no plans of stopping and foresees big plans for the future. “You can manifest your dreams, just be the change you want to see in the world.”…
